What is the creative aspect of Michael Jackson and how did his music change society ?
Your Elusive Creative Genius
As I was watching this Ted Talk, I was interested in the fact that she was talking about how after writing her book. People started coming up to her as if she were doomed. I don’t know why every time something big happens good or bad to someone everyone else thinks the world is supposed to stp for them. She also goes over how not just her being a writer but just overall people who create in whatever way are judged as if they have mental issues or drug and alcohol problems. She explains this is why she tries to keep a reasonable amount of space between her anxiety and creativity so she won’t have mental breakdowns and so forth. Too much pressure on one human alone starts killing them off due to stress. Some people can just waking up and randomly just start being creative but as for her she compares herself to a mull as someone who must have a set schedule by waking up at the same time everyday doing the same job over and over to e able to be creative. Even after all that she says one should just be stubborn enough to just keep showing up to work and keep pushing through. I think her central message about creativity would be, no matter how hard things get or how many people question your ability of you to do your job just keep pushing through but also allow yourself time and space to still have a life and don’t let your anxiety to take over. One question I have, would be what was her book about? Since it was so popular.
Loss and Dessire
This video begin’s talking about relation to works of art and different views on art are. Visual art is one of many that can display loss and desire. The second video caught my attention because it was a female wrestler who now an guy but she talks about how she was a wrestler in highschool and how it was a difficult sport that no one really talks about but she stuck out to me because usually wrestling is a guy sport and she joined no matter the looks people gave her like she stepped out of her comfort zone to express herself freely. She explains why she was attracted to the sport and she liked the way the the others guy’s looked so she figured out deep down she wanted to be like that. Gender is just a way for someone to express themselves according to her and it’s up to them to choose what they want to be, she’s also a photographer she talks about ow when she takes photos the poses they uses aren’t a female pose or and male poses it’s just a view of an artist. She gives background on how she became a photographer and being a jew how it all was living in germany. she expressed desire throughout her photos with death, romance and life. Next was a video about a guy who enjoyed walking and just being outdoors because of the freedom he got from it and the ability to be able to connect with the world. He talks about how once he finishes a project he must move on he can’t sit still. He also explains why he feels that nothing is ever finished you can always keep constructing or deconstructing, nothing is ever perfect in the world. Rules have to be invented, he liked thinking and being able to be physical with his work.
Response to First Draft
My draft, At first I thought it was going to be hard because it had to be a minimum of four pages but actually it was longer than I expected it to be, I started on it earlier than we were supposed to. So once everyone else began I was almost done because I had a head start , the topic I chose was personal so it was easy to write about without stopping although it was hard to a title because I didn’t wanna be repetitive with the same things I talked about previously so, as of now it doesn’t have a title. I’ll have to go back through to fix the punctuation I’m sure . At the time I was just typing to tell the story not worrying about anything else at that moment. Telling to story I told didn’t make me cry or anything while typing it but when I was brainstorming about it I was a little sad, when we were first assigned this assignment and Professor Harmon was telling his own story he started crying and that made me tear up a little bit at first but after that I was okay. I could’ve kept going with my story over five pages but the length was four pages minimum and five maximum so I didn’t wanna go over five although it was more things I would’ve talked about if I was able to.
What is creativity?
Creativity is when someone finds some sort of way to express themselves or an idea though whatever they choose. It could be food, music or anything that person likes just whatever makes them happy. There is no rules how to be creative no one can tell you what you can or can’t create. It all up to you and your imagination so the sky’s the limit. For example an Artist, of any sort let’s say music if he or she was a shy person or someone who didn’t know how to express themselves they could write and make music which would allow them to zone out and be able to express themselves freely as if, no one was listening or there to judge them. So their lyrics would be their way of expressing themselves.
Observing & Describing Exercise
Yesterday’s free write in uptown charlotte was pretty fun, although it was insanely hot outside. I was proud of myself for being able to handle the amount of people as well as I did. I’m typically a shy person but lately I’ve been trying to expand my circle of friends. Since we are in college now I guess it wouldn’t hurt to make new friends. Even though they do come with drama. This Summer Bridge Program has been cool to be a part of I just don’t like the fact that every activity is mandatory because back at home I could just go back home and chill whenever and for however long I wanted but now they have everyday planned out for us which is a big change because usually i’m the one in control of my day to day life. Yesterday was a cool experience it was nice to get out of the classroom and be away fro everybody, I got the chance to get Starbucks as I was working since I was alone. It was just sad to notice how many people are homeless and without or less than. Makes you realize how much we all take for granted such little things as shoes or even socks. It gives you a different perspective on life and makes you think and appreciate all little things you do have no matter how small. I can’t think of anything. I can’t think of anything. I can’t think of anything.
Uptown Free Write
Usually my morning always start off with the same set schedule, but this morning I had happened to be running late because I was up all night hanging out. Instead of having class in Gateway like we normally do. We were going to be having English class in Uptown Charlotte for a new take on our free writing. So even though I was already running late breakfast still started at eight o’clock, as usual. Classes would follow and start at nine in the morning so we’d all leave the cafe around eight forty five. This morning the Peer Leaders came around earlier than they normally would to round up everyone in the Summer Bridge Program, to leave ten minutes early. Which was a shock to us all because we all had already got to breakfast late. So everyone began to rush to be able to meet outside on time. Finally everyone made it outside so we could head uptown and automatically I had gotten frustrated because I was already being rushed which I don’t like at all and it was extremely hot outside early this morning. The longer we walked the heavier my bookbag had got. Nobody knew how far we were going to be walking everyone just kept saying “oh we’re just going uptown” etcetera. All the blocks we walked looked the same because of the construction and also I’m new around here so I don’t really know my way around here just yet. We finally make it to uptown where everyone is just in a way rude I assume because everyone is just trying to make it to where they need to be on time. Personally I still don’t think that’s a reason to be rude, but we make it to our destination with our Professor and he begins to go over our morning assignment and dismisses us all to go off to complete it.As I walk around Uptown Charlotte to find a seat I notice a few alleys with all kinds of cool graffiti which looked interesting on the walls. I walked down the alley and I ran into a few homeless people towards the end and I was alone so I decided I turn around because it was a quite a few of them and I wasn’t really comfortable being alone with them. There was also a lot of construction and early morning traffic going on. I also noticed there was a lot of people transporting through these new high tech scooters and ubers. I noticed a mall and decided to go in to find more inspiration and escape all of the sticky heat and pointless noise, as I walked towards the mall I bypassed a very loud water fountain that was really annoying because the water kept splashing on me and my phone as I was typing. Finally I get past the annoying waterfall and almost made my way into the mall but it was just a crowd of business people everywhere trying to make it to work or school on time. They were blocking the doorway in a sense you could say because the crowd wasn’t really moving. So I finally got through the crowd and into the mall entrance only to find out it was the ridiculously long Starbucks line that was holding up the crowd at the door. When I walked in I was surrounded by all kinds of food shops and other kinds of stores. I started to feel a little uncomfortable because I’m not used to huge crowds, and even though the mall was packed I began to collect myself to be able to write because I knew I didn’t have a choice. So as I’m wrote I started to feel a little more relaxed as if no one was around. Although, I was feeling extra tired because me and a few friends stayed up extremely later than usually just chilling; listening to music and eating a whole bunch of snacks. I still pushed through to complete the assignment because we were also on a time schedule, as long as it felt like I had been working I finally finished and made my way back to where originally met at to make our way back to Gateway to head to our next class on time.
Important Place
A place that means a lot to me would be my grandma’s old house, because we kind of grew up there it was also a family neighborhood in a way because literally everyone that stayed on the block was all related since it was all on private land. I’d pick my grandma’s house just because it was always fun there so many memories were made there. Like me and my brother’s room for example my room was decorated as princesses so I had a carriage designed kind of bed and my walls had all the princess painted on them and my brother’s room was spiderman and like all the marvel pheros so I just remember his wall had Hulk and Spiderman painted on them and my closet was just full of all kinds of toys. We also had this little dirt road path that led straight to the shell station right around the corner, I remember all my cousins would be outside playing and once we all got together we’d just walk through the path and it was safe because even the workers at the gas station knew us all.
Art Twenty-One Place
As the artist talks about her life and her imagination as she explains how you fall in love with certain things and different places, which cannot be undone just like when you love people you can never unlove someone you might not love them as much but you can never unlove someone. Richard talks about the finished product of different things to try and find a new perspective and tries to view the finish product differently through its architecture. He also adds some of his personal background and it gives a better understanding of why his dreams were so reoccurring along with why he loves what he does. He also drawls so he can keep his visual and physical dialogue in sync this is his way of staying focused and on track kind of just like how others may write a list, this is his list in a sense. Richard views things from inside out not knowing what he will get out of it in the end, but it gives him something to wonder about. A mother also and artist explains life as an artist and how she learned to do what she does as her kids would say they lost a mother but gained a friend kind of like a Ying and Yang her kids also talks about how she would use as models to find the intensity within the photos they were always taking. She talks about her childhood and how she was able to run free and wild and that’s what she instilled into her own kids, they’re all free spirits. Margret explains her eye for art and how she likes things handmade and talks about different forms of art along with perspective as well, how most will look at graffiti as trash and build boards as art it’s all about the mindset. Beauty within art to them is through the imperfectness because at the end of the day nothing is perfect which is where they find their inspirations through the imperfectness. Graffiti is also a way of learning about someone without knowing them, the thrill they get from doing graffiti makes them want to do it even more because they’re not supposed to it give a sense of freedom and the idea to be able to go wild.
